This relates to our chapter that were reading because of voter turnout. Who can vote and who will be able to vote. Also relates to the state senate

I choose this event because it had to do with Minnesota but also because i wanted to do something that had to do with voting. I learned that the reason why this bill is proposed is so that people wont vote more then once. It also made me realize that still don’t plan on voting or registering to vote

This event has to do with a bill that may be passed making it so that voters need a government issues ID to vote. Republicans support it while the DLFers do not support it. It may go on the ballot in November and if it is passed it will go into effect in 2014

The sponsor, Sen. Scott Newman, R-Hutchinson, submitted a new and more complex version of the ballot question on Monday. It asks voters to decide three things: Whether to require all in-person voters to present “an approved form of government-issued photographic identification,” whether those not voting in person (such as absentee voters) should have to provide “government-issued proof of identity” and whether all voters should be subject to “substantially equivalent eligibility verification standards.” Voters also would decide whether the state should provide free photo IDs to eligible people.
